Home and Away cast lead tributes to Dieter Brummer

“Dieter was such a lovely, kind, genuine person.”

The stars of the long-running Australian soap opera Home and Away have been paying tribute to Dieter Brummer, who recently passed away.

The 45 year-old actor, who played Shane Parrish on the series, was found dead in Glenhaven in Sydney on Saturday.

His death is not being treated as suspicious.

Since his passing was announced, the cast of Home and Away have shared touching tributes to Brummer.

The Home and Away official Instagram page offered their condolences to Dieter’s family.

They wrote: “Home and Away and @channel7 are deeply saddened to hear of Dieter Brummer’s passing.

“Dieter was a much-loved Home and Away cast member and celebrated by Australian and international audiences for his award-winning portrayal of Shane Parrish.

“We send our sincere condolences to Dieter’s family and friends during this very difficult time.”

Brummer also appeared on Neighbours, and the soap’s Instagram page posted a tribute of their own.

They wrote: “Vale Dieter Brummer, joined the Neighbours alumni in 2012 as Capt Troy Miller.

“Our thoughts are with his family and friends.”

Emily Symons, who played Marilyn Chambers in Home and Away, shared an emotional post on Instagram.

She wrote: “I can’t believe this this absolutely tragic news. Dieter was such a lovely, kind, genuine person. I always enjoyed working with him.

“I will never forget his beautiful smile, he was a much loved member of our Home and Away family. Thinking of his loved ones at this difficult time.”

Lynn McGregor, who played Irene on the soap tweeted: “So very sad. Please reach out. Ask if people are doing ok. And tell someone if YOU’RE not ok!”

Actress Georgie Parker, who played Roo Stewart wrote: “Such sad news, such a lovely man and a good actor too.

“Much love to his family and loved ones at this terribly difficult time.”

Neighbours actor Scott McGregor said: “Rest In Peace old mate. Such a special human. Ill never forget our motorbike weekend.”
