Openly-gay How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris described filming his sex scene with Rosamund Pike as ‘robotic’ and awkward for upcoming flick Gone Girl. Director David Fincher instructed cast members of how to perform the numerous sex acts, including where Rosamund was to place her mouth, the number of thrusts Patrick Harris was to perform and when to orgasm on camera.
Speaking in an interview with OUT magazine, Neil Patrick Harris said:
“He (Fincher) wanted it to be almost robotic, that we know exactly where we are, position-wise, where everything goes.
“And yet, through all of that, the whole “I’m gay” element was never even thought about,” he added.
The actor will be playing a supporting role in the hotly anticipated Gone Girl film, which boasts a stellar celebrity line-up including Ben Affleck, Rosamund Pike and Emily Ratajkowski.
The film is due for release October 3rd.
