The most iconic Dublin movie has been voted on and we’re inclined to agree, tbh

When you think of Dublin, what do you think of?

Probably donut shops, gridlock traffic, and the spire yeah?

Same, to be honest.

As it turns out though, Dublin is also known for some pretty decent things too, most of which are culture related.

The city has a rich history when it comes to film and the arts, with the likes of The Commitments, Once, and Intermission being shot on Dublin’s streets.

There is one film though that Dubliners have voted as the most iconic of all the Dublin films and we are absolutely inclined to agree… because it’s The Snapper, and The Snapper is nothing short of iconic.

Brought to life by Roddy Doyle and starring Colm Meaney and Brendan Gleeson, the film tells the story of family tension, an unexpected pregnancy, and a load of lads who want to cause a bit of trouble for everyone involved.

There’s also a load of gossip involved and everybody knows everybody so, you know, quintessentially Dublin.

The film was voted the most iconic by Dubliners in a Just Eat survey trying to find out the best things about the capital.

It was also found that Grafton Street was the city’s best landmark with the likes of “C’mere to me” and “Story?” being the preferred phrases of the city.

The survey also showed that the spice bag is apparently the dish of Dublin which we’re not entirely on board with but sure look, what can you do?
