I’m A Celeb fans are baffled that there’s been a falling out over rice

Ellen Fitzpatrick

We can feel the awkward in the camp from here.

I’m A Celebrity hasn’t even been back on our screens for a week and we’ve already seen a fair share of drama coming from it.

From Richard Madeley being forced to quit the series to two new soap star campmates entering, there’s one thing that has fans completely invested, the rice.

As it seems a few campers have already gotten cabin fever, tensions are building as Naughty Boy and Frankie Bridge decided to get into an argument all about rice.

We’ve seen a lot of bickering and petty fights on the show over the years but this one might be the pettiest of them all.

Naughty Boy was not impressed on last night’s episode when he pointed out that he thought the rest of the campmates were making the rice incorrectly, explaining that it was going to be more like rice pudding rather than savoury rice.

“If we’re having rice and beans, people would prefer to have rice and beans, not rice pudding and beans. I don’t know if I’m going crazy or overthinking,” he said.

He then told Danny that he was “thinking like a chef” and that “rice pudding is supposed to be a sweet dish, that was difficult for me to eat. It’s not supposed to be rice pudding, it’s supposed to be rice that goes with beans.”

And that’s when Frankie decided to step in and tell him to calm down, saying: “You’re just coming into our camp and this was just what we did.”

The producer spent the first few days in the castle in the clink before the two camps joined forces on Wednesday.

Not happy with what Frankie had said to him, he replied: “No, this is our camp. That’s wrong what you just said.”

Frankie then replied: “How have I ended up in a discussion over something that’s,” before Naughty Boy cut her off saying, “It’s not your camp.”

“Don’t be like that,” Frankie replied before Naughty boy snapped back with: “Don’t say things like you came to “our” camp.

“Frankie said something where it just implied we just joined their camp.”

Visibly upset, Frankie spoke to Kadeena saying: “Why can no one talk about rice in here? I can’t deal with it. I’d rather not have rice at this point. I just hate any confrontation.

“Now I’m like, “Oh my god, did I say something bad?” Now I’ve offended him… why am I talking about rice. I’m someone who avoids confrontation at all costs. I just hate it. I don’t understand what the issue is.”

Fans also couldn’t see what the whole ordeal was, with one saying: “naughty boy just pisses me off.”

Another added: “don’t know if he realises or is intending to as part of his persona but instead of naughty boy he is showing himself to be spoiled brat boy! Get a grip mate your not that famous and definitely not that important.”
