The film centres around a preteen who develops a same-sex crush on her friend

2015 was an incredible year for Irish film. From Cartoon Saloon’s Song Of The Sea, to Brooklyn directed by John Crowley, we have produced some stunning work and it looks like 2016 is set to continue in this vein.

Irish filmmaker Kate Dolan’s short film Little Doll has just been selected to premiere at the prestigious Berlinale (Berlin Film Festival) which will be held in February of this year.

The film centres around a young girl Elenore who meets a new friend, Alex. The two hit it off immediately, but with that instant connection comes the confusion and anxiety about having a same-sex crush.

With the Coen Brothers new feature Hail Caesar! opening the festival, and previous films shown including Spirited Away and Magnolia, Little Doll is in very good company.
