The islanders’ parents have got the go ahead to come on the show

Liam and Jake will be nervous.

Potentially our favourite episode after the heart rate challenge?

It’s been confirmed that the popular ‘Meet the parents’ episode of Love Island WILL go ahead this year for parents of contestants who are double vaxxed. There was uncertainty – due to Covid-19 – about whether in-person meetings would be able to go ahead and Zoom would have been the likely replacement.

Just what we need, more Zoom meetings.

A source close to the show revealed to the Sun that parents will be given the opportunity to travel if they’re fully vaccinated and happy to do so, there will reportedly be a ‘socially-distanced meeting’ and ‘fireworks’ are to be expected. The source went on to reveal that some islanders should be nervous, “all of the friends and family will have outsider gossip to tell the cast, so a lot of them should be very nervous, Jake included.”

We’re not sure if anything can surpass the heart rate episode we just witnessed, but as we all know parents usually have a thing or two to say about our love lives, and they’re usually right.

ITV2 hasn’t revealed when we’ll be seeing the family reunion, but if history is to be repeated it usually comes right before the end of the season, so we won’t have long to wait.
