Katie McGlynn announces her first role since leaving Coronation Street

Keeley Ryan

Katie McGlynn has announced her first role since leaving Coronation Street.

The actress recently finished filming her final scenes for the long running soap, as her character Sinead Tinker is set to tragically die.

However, it looks like the 26-year-old is definitely keeping busy after leaving the cobbles – and has already landed a festive-themed new role.

Yes, McGlynn announced she would be performing a panto this Christmas season at the Northwich Memorial Court in Cheshire.

She took to Twitter on Friday to tell her fans how she was “so excited” to have been cast as Tinker Bell in a production of Peter Pan.

McGlynn previously told DigitalSpy how the reaction to Sinead’s storyline had been “humbling”, as a number of young women have gotten in touch with her.

She said:

“You don’t really realise the impact that it has in the outside world. When I heard about the story, I jumped at the chance.

“So far, I have had so many messages from young women who have gone for their smears because of what they’ve seen on screen and they’ve found pre-cancerous cells which is really saving someone’s life.

“I’m not saying I am superwoman but it’s really humbling to hear something like that.”
