Lady Gaga posts emotional statement following her break up from fiancé Taylor

Lady Gaga has broken her silence on her split from fiancé Taylor Kinney. The pair had been dating for five years since meeting on the set of her music video for You and I and got engaged on Valentine's Day last year. People had begun to notice that they weren't featuring on each other's social media accounts as frequently as they had been so when it was reported yesterday that they had split up it began to make sense. Then today, Lady Gaga posted a statement to Instagram about their break up, citing their demanding work schedule as the reason for the split. In the post she said:

"Taylor and I have always believed we are soulmates. Just like all couples we have ups and downs, and we have been taking a break. We are both ambitious artists, hoping to work through long-distance and complicated schedules to continue the simple love we have always shared. Please root us on. We're just like everybody else and we really love each other."
