Line of Duty’s Vicky McClure is worried her character could be killed off

Line of Duty’s Vicky McClure has admitted she is “always”  worried her character could be killed off.

The actress has played Kate Fleming since the very first episode of Line of Duty.

And, after the series’ creator  Jed Mercurio hinted that season six of the cop drama may be on telly “some time in 2020”, McClure confessed the AC-12 trio were “always teetering on the vulnerable side of life.”

“I think we all [the whole cast] are [worried about being killed off],” she told Red magazine. We all know we’re always teetering on the vulnerable side of life because Line of Duty always delivers a sort of completely shocking killing or complete twist. Or whatever it might be.

“You just never know if it’s going to involve you. I remember when Craig Parkinson’s character Dot died, he was so glad that Jed does it in a way that is right for the story, right for the character. and it’s dramatic enough and there’s enough for you to go on. We all hope we make it though…”

And when asked about where the series may go after that massive reveal in the season five finale, McClure admitted she couldn’t predict where things would go next.

“I wouldn’t be able to say where this series will go because I’m just not Jed – I don’t have that skill in my brain to conjure up where we could go next,” she said.
