Lisa Armstrong has been 'axed' from her job as a make-up artist

It comes as Ant McPartlin will resume his presenting career.

It was announced this morning that we're going to see Ant McPartlin back on our screens sooner than we thought.

The presenter, who took time out to concentrate on his well being, will go back to work in January as the new season of Britain's Got Talent will begin filming.

However, as Ant arrives back on our screens, it seems like his ex-wife, and make-up artist on Britain's Got Talent, has been axed from her job.

Yay! Ant and Dec are to be reunited on TV early in the New Year

A source told The Mirror that it is "untenable" for the pair to be working so closely together.

"Although everyone is very fond of Lisa, it was clearly untenable to carry on working together.

"Ant and Dec are two of the most senior people on the show, sometimes these tough decisions have to be made."

The source added that everyone on the show wants to make sure Ant's return "goes smoothly with no unnecessary distractions."

Ant has been working to beat his alcohol and drug addiction and took this year's series of I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here off to focus on getting better.

"Ant has completed his recovery and ITV has decided he is ready to be back at work for Britain’s Got Talent filming, which starts next month," a source told The Sun.

“It’s been an incredible difficult two-year period but he has been entirely focused on turning his life around in order to return to work.

“ITV is very excited about Ant and Dec being reunited – but Ant’s recovery has been everyone’s first priority.”
