The trio are going their separate ways.

Little Mix have announced they will be taking a break from the band in 2022, after 10 years together.

In a statement on Twitter, the group explained how they felt it was the right time to recharge and work on individual projects, before thanking fans for their “never-ending support”.

“We wanted to let you all know that after the Confetti tour in April/May next year we are going to be taking a break from Little Mix.

“It’s been ten amazing years, a wonderful non-stop adventure, and we feel the time is right to take a break so we can recharge and work on some other projects. We can’t thank you enough for your love and never-ending support since the beginning. We love you all SO much.”

They went on to clarify that the announcement does not mean the end of the band forever.

We are not splitting up – Little Mix are here to stay.  We have plans for more music, tours and performances in the future. We’ve made so many incredible memories with you all, and we can’t wait to make so many more.

“We’re sisters and we’ll always have each other and you, the fans, in our lives. Little Mix is forever. See you on tour! Jade, Leigh-Anne and Perrie.”

It comes as Leigh-Anne Pinnock recently launched her acting career, bagging her first ever role in the new rom-com Boxing Day. Perrie Edwards and Jade Thirlwall have both also signed on to solo projects.

Despite the insistence that it’s a temporary break, fans still feel worried.

“I hope this isn’t a One Direction break lmao,” one person wrote.

“One Direction and Fifth Harmony said the same thing, we ain’t falling for it a third time,” a second person said.

Another expressed their fears by quoting some Taylor Swift lyrics: “I’ve seen this film before and I didn’t like the ending.”
