Are Love Island’s Mary and Aaron already over?

Jade Hayden

“We’ll see where it goes…”

Things may be over for Love Island’s Mary and Aaron just days after leaving the villa.

During last night’s Aftersun, the pair spoke to Laura Whitmore about their relationship and how things can be “different” once you leave the reality dating show.

Mary said: “I think we’re just gonna go home, when we’re back in the real world again and things are more normal we’re going to see how it goes, but I have definitely made a best friend in here.”

Laura then asked whether the pair could become “more than friends,” to which Mary responded “we’ll see where it goes.”

Neither Mary nor Aaron have commented on their relationship on social media yet, but the pair did speak further about their time in the villa after being dumped.

Before going on Aftersun, Mary said: “It’s still proper early days for us. Even though it’s only been 10 days it feels like we’ve been seeing each other for months. We said we’re definitely going to give it a go on the outside.

“Obviously everything changes when you get out so we said we’re just going to cross each bridge as it comes to it. We’re definitely going to see each other on the outside.”

All this talk of best friends and “seeing” where things “go” comes after Aaron and Kaz had an argument after she and Tyler voted Mary and Aaron as one of the least compatible couples in the villa.

The pair clashed following the infamous vote that saw Brett and Priya leave the villa, leaving three other couples in the bottom. Demanding to know why Kaz and Tyler had voted for him and Mary over Brett and Priya, Aaron said that the couple must be “blind.”

He later added that their decision was a “bullshit cop out excuse” and accused them of voting tactically.

Whatever their situation, it does appear as if Mary and Aaron still get on as they appeared quite chummy on last night’s Aftersun.

Whether their friendship will blossom into anything more serious remains to be seen.

The Love Island final airs tonight at 9pm on Virgin Media One.
