Looks like we’re one step closer to a Gossip Girl reunion

We've got our fingers crossed.

XOXO, Gossip Girl.

It’s been 10 years since the world dived into New York’s Upper East Side when Gossip Girl premiered.

The dramatic and glamorous look into the lives of wealthy Manhattanites left our TV screens back in 2012 – and we’ve got to say, we definitely miss it.

In honour of the show’s 10 year anniversary, Vanity Fair sat down with some of the cast and crew for a behind-the-scenes look at the extravagant series.

But while there’s plenty of hilarious tidbits included in the interview (like that Ed Westwick still doesn’t understand who Gossip Girl is), there was one thing in particular that caught our eye: the possibility of a Gossip Girl reunion.

And it looks like it could be a very real possibility.

We’re listening…

It looks like plenty of the cast and crew are up for the idea of a Gossip Girl revival…if it was the right story.

Show runners Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz said they “could be persuaded [to revisit the world of Gossip Girl] if there were new stories to tell”.

Wallace Shawn, who played Blair’s stepdad Cyrus Rose, said he “would jump at it” if he had the chance.

Meanwhile, Kelly Rutherford, who played Serena’s mum Lily, said she “would be completely on board” and that it should be done soon.

As for Serena and Queen B?

Leighton Meester said the timing would have to be right for her to be on board.

She added:

“I don’t want to say, ‘No, never . . .’

“If everyone was into it and if the timing was right, you know?”

And Blake Lively echoed the sentiment, adding that she “open to anything that feels interesting”.

She continued:

“Of course. I’m open to anything that’s good, that’s interesting, and that sort of feels necessary. . . . I imagine we all would [consider it].

“I can’t speak for everyone else, but we all owe so much to this show, and I think that it would be silly not to acknowledge that.”
