Last night's episode of Love Island was an emotional one as we bid farewell to Samira. The dancer from London was among the first contestants in the villa but had little luck in finding love - until recently when she coupled up with Frankie. The pair's romance seemed to go from naught to one hundred as they appeared to become loved up very quickly. It turns out that they had gotten closer than we'd seen and even spent a night in the hideaway together, though the encounter never made it to our screens. "We got a text and then the other Islanders picked us two, and then everyone was cheering us on as we walked in," Frankie confirmed to Metro. The revelation has annoyed fans of Samira, who took to Twitter after she left the villa on last night's episode to voice their anger at her storyline on Love Island. Some viewers even went as far as to accuse the producers of racial prejudice in how she was portrayed on the show.

Frankie was voted out because no one knew who he was...his and Samira’s relationship wasn’t given enough airtime! How have they not shown us that they were in the hideaway but Megan and Wes have been plastered all over the TV #LoveIsIand

Racism is real out here in Britain. It is vivacious in the work place, just as it is on telly. Samira walking out, shows how women of colour (especially black women), experience it the hardest. Never belonging or acceptable in white spaces. #LoveIsIand

Just found out ITV cut out Samira and Frankie’s hideaway night and I’m disgusted @richardcowles @ITVBe why would you decide to omit this from your episode? I’m sick n tired of decisions like this causing people of colour to feel inferior. So manipulative. Disgraceful #LoveIsIand
