JUSTICE FOR YEWANDE.

Love Island is back, and it’s great.

It’s fun, it’s dramatic, it’s something to entirely switch off to on the long summer nights that are not summer-based at all because it’s been raining for the past eight weeks.

It’s the perfect trash TV, and yet, even the most stunning of series has to have its flaws – and oh, does Love Island have its flaws.

One major issue that has been pissing people off for the past 12 hours or so (time moves fast in the villa, lads) is the severe lack of Yewande.

Where has she been? What has she been doing? Why isn’t she getting any screen time despite being the legit most beautiful person in there?

Yewande got the short end of the straw during last night’s episode when she was swerved by Curtis during the first recoupling.

After chatting to the professional dancer for a while in a scene that was probably the purest moment we’re going to witness during this entire show, Curtis decided that he wanted to steal flight attendant Amy over the Co Meath scientist.

Despite already being coupled up with Michael, Yewande appeared dismayed by the decision after having admitted that Curtis was a bit of her and that she did quite fancy him.

However, it wasn’t just the recoupling that got on people’s nerves, it was that Yewande wasn’t really in the show very much at all last night.

Viewers have pointed to the show’s recurring race issue as the reasoning behind this, lamenting the fact that yet another contestant being left behind – both by the show and by the islanders – happens to be black.

It may only be day two, which means there is still all to play for.

And there’s always more Yewande to put on screen.
