If there’s one thing (and one thing only) we will miss from this year’s Love Island, it’s the delight, wit, and general presence of Ovie Soko on our television screens.
The man was a beauty, a game changer, a beacon of light in an otherwise stressful and drama-fuelled series.
And then, with the end of the show, he was gone, only to return to us again in the form of Instagram Stories and the odd meme, probably.
However, Love Island wasn’t the end of Ovie’s time on TV. In fact, it may have just been the beginning, because the basketball player – and general baller – is set to return to our screen very soon as a guest chef on ITV’s This Morning.
Pumped? Of course you are, mate.
According to The Mirror, the reality TV contestant will be showcasing his array of cooking skills alongside Eamonn and Ruth once a week to chat all things food, love, and his love of food.
He was the only person who had any form of culinary skills in that villa, after all.
Message!” said Ovie announcing the news.
“Cooking on This Morning is going to be dope, but I’ll need to graft hard if my infamous eggs are to live up to the hype for Love Island fans Eamonn and Ruth.
“They’re daytime royalty after all.”
Sounds like something he would say, yeah.
This comes after fellow Love Island contestant Maura landed herself a role on This Morning too.
The Longford gal will be hosting her own agony aunt type segment called ‘Maura Than Meets The Eye’, in which she takes on a series of challenges around the country.
Maura confirmed the role last week, saying:
“I’m getting flutters about joining This Morning. I can’t believe it. It’s beyond my wildest dreams. I’ve grown up watching Phillip, Holly, Eamonn, Ruth and the team. Mad to think I’m now part of that iconic family. Can’t wait to crack on.”
This Morning editor Martin Frizell said: “Maura was the standout star of this year’s villa antics with her straight-talking opinionated views.”
