Maisie Williams may have just revealed a HUGE Game of Thrones spoiler

Keeley Ryan

Uh oh.

It’s one of the most popular shows in the world – which means that, unfortunately for the Game of Thrones show runners, everyone wants to know what’s going to happen next.

Especially since there’s around an 18-month wait between seasons 7 and 8.

It had previously been reported that they were going to some pretty big extremes to keep the details of the final season under wraps.

But while set photos have revealed some of what to expect in season 8, fans still want more – which Maisie Williams may have just given them.

WARNING.

The rest of this story contains possible spoilers for Game of Thrones, season 8.

Still here? Cool. Then let’s continue.

The actress, who played the dagger-wielding Arya Stark, recently shared a photo bidding goodbye to the role – and showing off a pair of bloody shoes.

She wrote alongside it:

“goodbye belfast. goodbye arya. goodbye game of thrones. what a joy i’ve had. here’s to the adventures to come.”

Since it’s Game of Thrones, though, it’s basically been all-but-confirmed that season eight was going to be a big ol’ bloody mess.

All you have to do is look at what happened to Ned. Or Robb. Or Cat. Or Talisa. Or Hodor. Or Oberyn. Or Tywin. Or Rickon. Or Robert. Or Syrio. Or Joffrey.

Or Jon, even though he ended up coming back.

…I could go on listing the rest of the characters who’ve died, but then we would be here for forever.

But it was one of the hashtags in particular that led fans to wonder if she may have given away a little more than she intended to.

The ‘#lastwomanstanding’ bit.

It would make sense with some long-standing theories.

There have been plenty of fan theories that Dany is going to go the way of the Mad King, while Cersei is speculated to meet her end thanks to the Valonqar.

And, according to the original pitch of the Song of Ice And Fire series, Sansa wasn’t even meant to be one of the last few standing.

Of course, unless Arya’s gotten a very modern change to her wardrobe, this is all just likely to be a coincidence.

Game of Thrones is expected to return in 2019.
