The Haunting of Hill House has officially been renewed for a second season.
Well, kind of.
The horror series is being brought back as The Haunting anthology, with a new story and all new characters.
Netflix teased the news with a video on Twitter this afternoon, urging fans to “listen closely” to figure out where it will take place.
And it seems like fans are already throwing their guesses out there as to where the next season could be set.

We gave it a shot and beyond the creepy whispering and rocking chair, all we can hear is the “lawn”, “the garden beyond it”, “see of the park” and “empty with a great emptiness.”
Which basically means we’ve got no idea.
From the looks of the comments underneath the original video, it looks like fans of the series were equally as confused.

Judging by Steve Crain’s books we have some options:
The Haunting of Battery Point
The Haunting of the Queen Mary
The Haunting of Williamsburg
The Haunting of Rockhaven Sanitarium
The Haunting of Mendocing Hotel

Netflix later added a hint, telling fans that the series would be called The Haunting of *** ***** – before eventually revealing the full title, The Haunting of Bly Manor.

The series will be based on the works of Henry James and arrive on Netflix in 2020.
Variety report that the streaming giant have inked a “multi-year” overall deal with the series creator Mike Flanagan and executive producer Trevor Macy.
Cindy Holland, vice president of original content at Netflix, said:
“Mike Flanagan and Trevor Macy are masterful at creating authentically frightening stories that leave audiences on the edge of their seats, but unable to look away.
“We’re excited to continue our partnership with them on ‘The Haunting’ series and future projects to come.”
