Maura Higgins shared a photo that sent fans into a frenzy yesterday as they believed she was about to reveal herself as the new presenter of Love Island 2020.
And the likelihood of her getting the gig is now higher than ever before as current presenter of the series, Caroline Flack, was reportedly arrested on December 12 following an altercation with her boyfriend, Lewis Burton.
The star was charged with assault causing bodily harm and is set to appear in court on December 23.
And so, as the 40-year-old is needed in the UK, it looks like Maura Higgins could be set to head to South Africa where the debut winter edition will be shot.
Sharing a topless photo, Maura used the winter Love Island tagline but left fans in the dark over where the image was snapped or what it was about.

To add even more fuel to the fire, Maura Higgins also shared a photo of herself in a private jet announcing that she was off to shoot something fun.
Being very careful to not give too much away, the star posted photos of the view from her shoot’s location but snapped nothing of any surrounding buildings or errrr… villas.
ITV has yet to release a statement over Caroline Flack’s role as host of the show but with time ticking and January getting closer, we don’t think we’ll be in the dark for much longer.
