Ellen Fitzpatrick

There’s a Broadway wedding on the horizon.

A huge congratulations are in order for Broadway stars Erika Henningsen and Kyle Selig as the pair announced they are engaged.

The two actors starred alongside each other in the Broadway adaption of Mean Girls after originating the roles of Cady Heron and Aaron Samuels, and have been dating since 2017.

Announcing their engagement on Thursday, with Erika taking to Instagram to share the couple’s happy news.

She wrote: “I choose you always, thanks for choosing me best friend. (Not pictured: a 100 pound sea turtle who served as witness, and Kyle’s panic sweat when he dropped the ring in the sand moments before.)”

Among the photos she posted, Erika added an adorable video of her and her new fiancée, showing off just how happy they are.

Kyle also took to Instagram to gush about the big news, and his set of pictures did manage to give us a look at the sea turtle.

He wrote: “Oh yeah, HERE’s a couple more… I am lucky to have a best friend that has seen me through all the ups and downs, and I think I’d be stupid not to LOCK THAT DOWN. So we’re doing this, officially.

“She said yes, btw, she’s not just keeping the ring.”

The pair starred in the Broadway production of Tina Fey’s hit 2004 film, staying in the original cast only a few days shy of the show closing.

The show closed on Broadway, like many others, on March 11, 2020 as theatres went dark due to the pandemic.

Mean Girls won’t be returning to the Broadway stage when it reopens in September, but fans of the show will be able to see it live when it heads on the North American tour later this year, with a film version of the musical in the works too.
