If you haven’t looked at social media this morning, you might have missed that last night was the 90th Academy Awards in Tinseltown.
The biggest night in all of showbiz, the awards are an opportunity to honour the best of the best in the entertainment industry. But, while it is usually all quite serious and/or emotional, as last year’s La La Land / Moonlight mix-up demonstrated, there are occasionally a few laughs too.
This year Twitter has been out in full meme-force after a clip of actress Meryl Streep was aired. Her appearance at the at the 90th Academy Awards saw viewers compare her to a very well-known character from a very-well known animated movie.

The 68-year-old has been nominated for a record 21 Academy Awards over the course of her career – having won three in total – but nobody was talking about that as she was pictured in her chair.
