Little Miss Sunshine - Family bonding never brought as many laughter, tears or epic dance routines as Little Miss Sunshine. Ice-cream for dinner? Sure it'd be rude not to. Olive wasn't shy about being herself. She's a superfreak - OUR superfreak.
The Lion King - There's no purer love than Simba and Nala. Throw in some classic Disney tunes and you're guaranteed to leave the couch with a grin on your face. Proving Disney films are more a way of life than entertainment, this classic is all about the underdog (well lion), coming out on top. Hey, what's not to love about a film that's brought us Hakuna Matata?
Forrest Gump - He was never the typical American hero. But he was kind-hearted, genuine and stood up for his real friends and Jenny. He also has more philosophical one-liners than a season of Dawson's Creek.
Erin Brockovich - Never tell a woman she can't do something, because she will prove you wrong. Roberts stars as an unemployed, single mother who becomes a legal assistant and almost single-handedly brings down a California power company accused of polluting a city's water supply. Best part? It's based on a true story. There's no stopping some ladies, and we love her for it.
Dead Poet Society - We all had the one teacher who had faith in our abilities and challenged us. We probably even hold their subject as our favourite from our school hey days. Now pack all that hope, teenage life-problems and Robin Williams into a film and you've the ingredients for two hours of inspiration. Just try not to stand on the coffee table.
Cool Runnings - Saving the guilty pleasure 'til last, let's break out the impossible dreams for a Jamaican bob-sled team. You'll laugh, probably cry and cheer on with embarrassing pride when they finish THAT race. Teaching you that anything is possible, we've already battled the cold and we've moved onto nailing the turns...
