Paolo Nutini has released a brand new music video for his incredible track 'Iron Sky' and we’re going to go ahead and say it, this is without doubt the greatest of its kind this year.
‘Iron Sky’ is the third single to be taken from the Scottish crooner’s chart-topping album Caustic Love and thanks to director Daniel Wolfe, the song is accompanied by a phenomenally powerful short film that is set in a dystopian future world, which highlights the damaging effects of drugs and addiction.
The short film, which is just under 9 minutes long, begins as a silent movie for the first two minutes and features an extract from the famous Charlie Chaplin's speech from the 1940 anti-war satire, The Great Dictator.
In an interview with The Guardian, Wolfe explained the inspiration behind the video.
"I was sent the track with no explanation from Paolo", he admitted.
"As a child I stared at the planet Jupiter and had a vivid hallucinatory experience. A feeling of abject terror. In bondage to an omnipotent machine.
"When I heard the Chaplin quote I remembered this clearly. So the video became a dystopian vision of the future as imagined by a child in the '80s".
This video is slightly NSFW and does come with a parental guidance warning.

Nutini plays Strabally's Electric Picnic at the end of August. We had a chance to catch the 27-year-old live in Dublin’s Olympia in March and trust us, he is one act that everyone needs to see live.
