Oxegen WILL be back this year.
MCD chief Denis Desmond has announced that the popular festival is to return to the Irish summer line-up this year, after a break in 2012.
There are some changes in store, however. Oxegen will be scaled back to a two-day festival, and will now take place in August instead of its traditional July spot.
Oxegen 2013 is scheduled for August 3rd and 4th, and the line-up is due to be announced in late February.
Traditionally Oxegen shared many of the same headliners as T in the Park, usually held on the same weekend in the UK, but the change of dates means that this crossover is now unlikely. This year's headliners for T in the Park include Mumford & Sons, Rihanna and The Killers.
In 2011 The Black Eyed Peas, Foo Fighters, Coldplay and Beyonce were among the main attractions at Oxegen.
