Former X Factor contestant Lauren Platt has blamed the hit talent show for the breakdown of her relationship with boyfriend Liam Baker.
The 17-year-old singer who was eliminated from the show on Sunday evening following a sing off for survival with Andrea Faustini has admitted that she did get a little bit close to Charlie George from Only The Young.
Speaking out this week, the talented young singer revealed that she does not regret what happened but feels sorry for her ex for being put into the public eye.
“Liam didn’t sign up for the X Factor,” she told The Sun. “But he ended up being dragged along for the ride. And to do that to a person is hard.
“Since I moved into the house we have been completely away from each other, and then Charlie and I started to become closer and closer. It’s very rare to meet someone who is exactly like you, and it is scary how much we are the same.”
Laura, who dated Liam for 10 months, hopes “in the future, we’ll get back together” but added that she “won’t have any regrets.”
