David Keenan shot to fame when a video of his performance in the back of Maxi's taxi in Dundalk went viral.
The footage has gained over 100,000 views on YouTube and was followed by several other vehicular performances but it was Keenan's bluesy tones that captured our attention so we invited the Dundalk singer to join us to perform his track El Paso for The Sunday Sessions.
While the viral video brought Keenan to national attention, music fans may have already spotted the 21-year-old on the gig circuit as he previously played alongside Steve Cradock (Ocean Colour Scene) and John Power (Cast) at Whelan's and at Irish festival Vantastival.
El Paso was the first song that Keenan ever wrote and we predict that there is a very bright future ahead for the singer, whose folk and roots sound sets him apart from any other act on the Irish music scene.
Keenan also performed a blues medley at The Workman's Club for your listening pleasure.
You can check out more of David's material on Facebook and Soundcloud.
