The Westboro Baptist Church aren't happy with pop singer Lorde, and plan to picket the star's upcoming gig in Kansas.
In a series of tweets that the 17 year old has since deleted, Lorde encouraged followers to wear rainbow coloured clothing to the concert this Friday. She tweeted:
"... try to kiss church members who are same sex as you. They will so love it. Christmas comin early in kansas city.”
The singer caught the attention of the fire and brimstone Christian group following an Australian radio appearance, where she criticised a DJ for implying there was 'something wrong with lesbians'.
The Christian group are accusing the New Zealander of spending her energy, talent and time 'serving herself and teaching other young people how to be idolent rebels'.
The Wesboro Baptists have since posted a parody of the singer's Royals song on YouTube, with the planned picket to go ahead this Friday.
Founded in 1955, Fred Phelps’ organisation is infamous for its headline-grabbing protests, including pickets at the funerals of Michael Jackson and Ronnie James Dio.
