Netflix announce new show from the creator of The End Of The F**cking World

The End Of The F**cking World was one of the surprise TV hits of 2017.

The Netflix/Channel 4 collab seemingly came out of nowhere to become one of the most talked about shows of last year.

A short, sharp, punk rock blackly-comic drama about two teens on the run, it was exactly the sort of exciting TV we need more of.

The show has been confirmed for a second series – but there’s even more good news for fans.

The End Of The F**cking World was based on the comic book by cartoonist Charles Forsman, and now Netflix has announced they are adapting another of his books, I Am Not Okay With This.

The synopsis for the new show reads:

“A coming of age story about a teenage girl navigating the trials and tribulations of high school, all the while dealing with the complexities of her family, her budding sexuality, and… mysterious superpowers just beginning to awaken from deep within her.”

The show will be co-created with author and playwright Christy Hall, a playwright and author, be produced by Shawn Levy, Dan Levine, Dan Cohen and Josh Barry. It will run for eight episodes.

Originally put out as self-published minicomics, a single collected volume of I Am Not Ok With This was put out by Fantagraphics in 2017.

So yeah, we’re hyped for this.
