Netflix have released the first teaser for season four of Stranger Things – and have confirmed Hopper’s fate

It's official, guys: production on season four of Netflix's Stranger Things is underway. And the fate of David Harbour's police chief Jim Hopper was also confirmed in the first teaser for the highly-anticipated fourth season of the sci-fi series. It looks like it's good news for the 'American'. Well, kind of. The Duffer Brothers sent fans a message "from Russia with love" on Friday, as they confirmed the return of the previously-presumed-to-be-dead Hopper. "We’re excited to officially confirm that production on Stranger Things 4 is now underway -- and even more excited to announce the return of Hopper," they said. "Although it’s not all good news for our “American”; he is imprisoned far from home in the snowy wasteland of Kamchatka, where he will face dangers both human...and other. Meanwhile, back in the states, a new horror is beginning to surface, something long buried, something that connects everything…. "Season 4 is shaping up to be the biggest and most frightening season yet, and we cannot wait for everyone to see more. In the meantime -- pray for the American." Alongside the message, they released the first footage from season four of Stranger Things - which also debuts a new look for Hopper... Last year, Netflix announced that the sci-fi series had been renewed for a fourth season - as the series' creators and showrunners The Duffer Brothers to a multi-year film and series overall deal. The hugely popular show has garnered over 50 awards nominations since its first season in 2016.
