It kind of sounds like the Hunger Games meets Lost.

Netflix have released the trailer for their new thriller The I-Land – and yeah, we’re already hooked.

The seven-episode limited series was announced with a Fyre Festival spoof video on Tuesday evening.

The footage starts off on a picturesque island, as a bunch of women stroll down the beach. And while the crystal-clear waters at the island look absolutely stunning, we soon get the first clue that everything isn’t picture perfect.

“That’s the big question here, for all of us. Nature vs. nurture. Can we change a person’s circumstances and, by doing so, change a person,” a mysterious person says.

It then cuts through a sequence including waterfalls, concerts, swimming pigs, people going jet skiing – before it shows all hell breaking loose.

“Welcome to the I-Land. An immersive experience so exclusive, captivating and breathtaking. Once you arrive, you’ll never leave. Everyone is invited for a reason,” the trailer says.

The official description for The I-Land reads:

“When ten people wake up on a treacherous island with no memory of who they are or how they got there, they set off on a trek to try to get back home.

“They soon discover this world is not as it seems. Faced with the I-Land’s extreme psychological and physical challenges, they must rise to their better selves — or die as their worst ones.”

The I-Land lands on Netflix on September 12, but in the meantime you can check out the trailer below.
