New cast members join Sex and the City reboot

And Just Like That is expected to air next year.

Three new actresses will join Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis in the highly anticipated Sex and the City reboot.

The new additions joining the cast of And Just Like That are Sarita Choudhury, Nicole Ari Parker and Karen Pittman.

Choudhury, who played Kith Lyonne in Netflix’s Jessica Jones, will portray new character Seema Patel. Ari Parker, who you may recognise from her roles in Empire and Chicago MD, will play Lisa Todd Wexley, while The Morning Show’s Karen Pittman will play Dr Nya Wallace.

The three actresses will join Sara Ramirez, another new addition to the cast who had been previously announced. The Grey’s Anatomy actor will play Che Diaz in the reboot.

We also know that Chirs Noth will reprise his role as Mr Big and Charlotte’s husband Harry (Evan Handler) will rejoin the cast. Other fan favourites making a comeback include Anthony Marentino (Mario Cantone), Steve (David Eigenberg) and Stanford Blatch (Willie Garson).

In a previous statement regarding casting, executive producer Michael Patrick King said: “Everyone at And Just Like That… is thrilled to be able to continue the storylines of these beloved Sex and the City characters with the actors who made them so lovable.”

The 10 episodes of And Just Like That will see Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte try to figure out their cosmopolitan life now that they’re in their 50s. Like the original format, each episode will be just half an hour long.

Earlier this year, some fans expressed their dismay as it was announced that Kim Cattrall would not be returning to reprise her role as the iconic Samantha.

The actress told The Guardian last year that she “had enough” of Sex and the City after the second film.

Fair enough.
