An early Christmas present for Star Wars fans in the west.
Omniplex Cinemas will officially open the doors of its new €2 million cinema in the Skycourt shopping centre in Shannon with midnight shows of Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of the Skywalker next Thursday (19 December).
The new six-screen cinema will feature the latest in Digital Laser Projection for crystal clear imaging, Dolby Digital sound and the Omniplex classic leather rocking chairs to deliver what Omniplex describes as “a completely immersive cinematic experience”.
Commenting on the opening of the cinema, Mark Anderson, Director of Omniplex Cinemas, said: “We’re delighted to open our doors in Skycourt, Shannon for Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of the Skywalker on Thursday 19 December at midnight.
“We have a great selection of movies throughout the Christmas period including major blockbusters Jumanji: The Next Level, Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of the Skywalker, Spies in Disguise and Little Women, as well as a selection of Christmas Classics including Home Alone, Home Alone 2 and Love Actually. We will also be hosing major Cinematic Events such as Andre Rieu: 70 Years Young on Saturday 4 January 2020.”
Shannon Omniplex will be open from 2pm weekdays and 12pm on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the Christmas period.
