New Romance For One Of Summer Bay’s Most Loved Characters Irene Roberts

One of our favourite Home and Away characters, Irene Roberts, is set for a new love interest. Irene goes on a date with new headmaster, Greg Snelgrove, and it's not long before the pair realise they have a shared interest...fish tanks (yes, really). After some encouragement from Marilyn, Irene decides to invite Greg for dinner although it turns into a double date of sorts when John and Marilyn join the party. Marilyn and John join the date Greg and John almost come to blows but Irene takes Greg's side and it looks as though love might be about to blossom between the pair. Talking to TV Week, Lynne McGranger who plays Irene said: "It's been such a long time since Irene has dated and she doesn't have a great track record. "She probably thinks she's a bit too old for all of this. Irene is quite happy in her safe little world". Lynne McGranger spoke about the upcoming storyline Irene is the longest-serving female character on the show and we have our fingers crossed that this new romance has a happy outcome.
