It’s official – Bridgerton will be back on our screens this March

We are EXCITED.

Bridgerton fans will be delighted to know that an official release date for season two of the period drama has been confirmed – and it’s a lot sooner than we expected.

The hugely popular Netflix series will be back on on our screens on 25 March, and we cannot wait to see what Lady Whistledown has in store for us.

Announcing the news on Twitter, the official Bridgerton account wrote: “Dear readers, I know my absence has only made your hearts grow fonder; however, you will not have to wait much longer. Bridgerton Season 2 debuts March 25, 2022, only on Netflix.”

In a video announcing the series’ return, a number of the cast members reunite to receive a letter from Lady Whistledown in which she tells them: “Happy anniversary to our buzzy ton.

“It is customary for a first anniversary to gift paper, dear readers. I do hope you find this one informative. Bridgerton returns March 25th.”

The first season of the series focused on Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) and her quest to find a suitor, which ultimately led her into the arms of the Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page).

In the upcoming season, however, the focus will be on Daphne’s brother Anthony (Jonathan Bailey), as he attempts to woo Kate Sharma, who is played by Simone Ashley.

In a snippet shared a few months ago, Bridgerton viewers got to see Anthony and Kate interact, and they got off to a rocky start.

Irish actor Calam Lynch is also among the new cast members gracing our screens this March. Lynch will take on the role of Theo Sharpe in season two.

Notably absent from the upcoming series is Page. His departure was announced earlier this year, and fans were, understandably, heart-broken to see him go.

Announcing the sad news on Twitter, Lady Whistledown wrote: “We’ll miss Simon’s presence onscreen, but he will always be a part of the Bridgerton family.”
