Official Love Island air date has just been announced

It’s back, baby.

Get the cocktails at the ready, because it’s time to crack on; Love Island will be back on our screens in just a few weeks time.

The hugely popular dating competition show will return to Virgin Media Two at 9pm on Monday 6 June.

The one and only Laura Whitmore will be on hand to oversee the shenanigans in the Majorca villa, as 12 brand new singletons enter the competition with their hopes set on finding love and taking home $50,000, either for themselves, or to split with their partner.

Last year, Essex gal Millie Court and Welshman Liam Reardon were crowned the king and queen of the villa, and they took home the grand prize to share, ahead of fan favourites Chloe Burrows and Toby Aromolaran, while Faye Winter and Teddy Soares finished in third place.

In other Love Island news, it was announced last week that the TV show would be ditching its fast fashion sponsors in favour of using second-hand items acquired through eBay.

The clothes brand ISAWITFIRST provided clothes for the contestants from 2019-2021, and prior to that Misguided was the fashion sponsor.

Announcing the shake-up last week, Love Island’s executive producer Mike Spencer said: “We are thrilled to be pairing up with Ebay this year as our pre-loved fashion partner. As a show we strive to be a more eco-friendly production with more focus on ways in which we can visibly show this on screen.

“This partnership will see our Islanders get to dive into the shared wardrobes and help themselves to some incredible pre-loved clothes sourced from Ebay. We aim to inspire our demographic and show that there are incredible finds to be had and how sharing is, in some small way, caring.”
