OFFICIAL: Season 3 of Killing Eve will premiere in April

Paul Moore

Villanelle is back.

Fresh from her cameo in Star Wars: Episode IX- The Rise of Skywalker, Jodie Comer is back in her most famous role for a new season of Killing Eve.

After winning a BAFTA Award for Best Actress and Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in 2019, we’re certain that she’ll have no problem slipping back into those pink dresses and pyjamas!

The news gets better though because Season 4 of the spy thriller has already been approved too.

In terms of the next season, the whole gang are back with Comer, Sandra Oh, Fiona Shaw, and Kim Bodnia all set for a return.

For those that haven’t seen the first two seasons – you really should –  the story revolves around MI6 operative Eve (Oh) as she tracks psychopathic assassin Villanelle (Comer)—or is it the other way around?

Thankfully, BBC America have announced that Killing Eve Season 3 will premiere in April.

Traditionally, the show is released in the US before it arrives in Ireland and the UK.

For example, Season 1 aired in the US on 8 April 2018 but it wasn’t shown by the BBC in the UK until September 2018. With regards to Season 2, it premiered in April 2019 in the US,  but was released in its entirety on BBC iPlayer on 8 June 2019, with its first episode being shown on BBC One the same day.

At present, the first episode of Season 3 hasn’t been given an official date by BBC or RTÉ.

Of course, there’s the small issue of the cliffhanger to sort out because the last time we saw Eve, she was lying down in the dirt after being shot in the back with Villanelle walking away.

Game of Thrones star Gemma Whelan is a new addition to the cast along with: Pedja Bjelac (Harry Potter), Camille Cottin (Call My Agent), Steve Pemberton (Inside No. 9), Raj Bajaj (A Christmas Prince: The Royal Wedding), Turlough Convery (Ready Player One), and Evgenia Dodina (One Week and a Day).

Suzanne Heathcote (Fear the Walking Dead) is the new head writer/executive producer on the show.

Here’s a very brief teaser which announced the show’s return.

We can’t wait.
