"She swam by me she got a cramp He swam by me got my suit damp I saved her life she nearly drowned He showed off splashing around."However it is thought that he actually didn't save her and the romance that followed was all a dream. Of course it sounds totally ridiculous but nevertheless, it has remained popular over the years. And for anyone who might have believed it, it appears Olivia Newton-John herself has quashed the theory and said that it is definitely not true. During an Interview with AOL Build, Olivia, who played Sandy was asked about it.
“Well, I laughed,” she said. “I thought it was hilarious. I thought it was wonderful that people were still talking about it all these years later. Then I thought, if that’s the case, we were the first zombie musical, and we look pretty good considering!” Joking aside, the added that it is definitely not true. “It’s so far from reality because that’s not what it was, but I think it’s a hilarious theory,” she said.Thank god, Sandy was alive the whole time. Now we just need someone to explain that floating car at the end to us.
