2016 was a great year for Irish movies with the likes of Sing Street and Room receiving praise worldwide. Another movie which won over audiences was the comedy The Young Offenders.
If you didn't get to see it when it was in the cinema then you'll be delighted to hear that it's now available on Netflix.
Inspired by Ireland’s biggest cocaine seizure of €440 million off the coast of Cork in 2007, The Young Offenders follows two Cork inner-city teenagers, Conor and Jock, as they embark on a 160km road trip on stolen bikes in the hopes of finding an unrecovered bale of coke.
Unfortunately for them, their dreams of becoming millionaires are dashed when they come across some problems along the way, including a Garda and a drug dealer hot on their tails.
Directed by first-time feature writer/director Peter Foott and introduces new talents Alex Murphy and Chris Walley. There are also some familiar faces in the cast including Hilary Rose and PJ Gallagher.
It's absolutely brilliant.
