One of Galway’s favourite bars is re-opening on Friday and it’s looking cool AF

If you’re in Galway this weekend, then you need to head down to Taylor’s.

The Galway favourite is re-opening and has gotten a major upgrade.

The Dominic Street haunt used to be called Taylor’s Shop and Bar, and became known for selling quality meats (including crubeen’s, gluneen’s and pig’s heads – bleh) in the front shop along with tobacco and general groceries. Liquid refreshments including porter and whiskey were available in the back bar… just like the pubs your grandparents used to tell you about!

However, under new management, the place is going to be hopping and with the new proprietor, Johnny Duggan, who was previously behind modernising An Púcan and Kelly’s Bar, you know it’s going to be the new place to be.

Johnny said: “The goodwill towards bringing back the pub is fantastic, and I’m hearing great tales of ‘Taylor’s Bar’. I’m looking forward to more of these wonderful stories of Mick and the bar.”

The grand re-opening is tomorrow, Friday 20, at 5pm where you will be able to experience the new bar, beer garden and have the craic with some drink, food and music.
