Turns out our favourite Game of Thrones actor played the dad in A Little Princess

HOW did we not know this before now? Game of Thrones has boosted a lot of actors' careers, but it's also got an impressive cast with hugely successful careers prior to joining the HBO series. Our very own Aidan Gillen, for example, had starred in The Wire, Love/Hate and many movies before he began his role as Littlefinger in the show. Peter Dinklage and Conleth Hill were two others that were familiar to us when the show first started. But we've just found out that our favourite character of them all starred as the dad in the best 90's movies, A Little Princess. Remember that movie which centred around a little girl called Sara who was forced to work for a boarding school when her dad goes missing while out serving the country in the war and is presumed dead. We get to see her dad, Captain Crewe, at the beginning of the movie and again at the end but we were shocked to realise who the actor is. Here he is in the movie - know who he is? He looks a bit familiar alright, but we did not expect it to be Liam Cunningham, aka Davos Seaworth. After the success of the 1995 movie, Liam went on to have a really successful career and starred in the likes of Breakfast on Pluto, The Clinic, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor and War Horse.  While he still remained in the forefront of the acting world, he has changed quite a bit in the 20 years since the movie and he is unrecognisable to the dad from A Little Princess.  Mind blown. via GIPHY
