The entertainment world was left stunned last month after Patrick Kielty and Cat Deeley announced they had separated after being married for 13 years.
Earlier this year, Cat didn't attend her mother-in-law's funeral, raising a few eyebrows, leading the pair to make a joint statement on the end of their marriage.
The joint statement explained that the pair had made the mutual decision to end their marriage, but noted that no other party was involved in the separation.
They also went on to say that they will continue to be loving parents to their children and, therefore, also ask for some privacy on the matter on behalf of their family.
They ended the statement by claiming no further comment will be given, per Extra.ie.
Both Patrick and Cat appear to have taken a social media hiatus. They have also both not appeared on TV since the announcement of their separation, with Patrick and Cat being on break from The Late Late Show and This Morning.
However, Patrick finally broke his silence on Saturday morning when returning to his BBC Radio 5 show.
He said: "It’s lovely to be back. We are coming to you from sunny Belfast, and we’ve got Michael Andrew looking after things here. We’ve got Sammy and Craig looking after things in London.
"It takes a village, folks, to make this show sound so average, but it is not just me who is back. Oh no, what is this? It is a little welcome back letter from the head of the BBC."
He then went on to joke: "Dear Mr Kielty, thank you so much for your application to be a host on Match of the Day."
"Unfortunately, every other host employed by the BBC is currently working hosting on this show; therefore, we don’t need your services. Don’t call us, we will call you, Tim Davie."
He added: "Thanks for that, Tim, I shouldn’t have read that out on air."
Extra.ie has recently also reported that Kielty is believed to be moving back to Northern Ireland to 'regroup' after the breakdown of his split.
According to an insider, "Pat is a bit all over the place at the moment, as anyone naturally would be.
"He recently lost his mother, now his marriage to Cat has ended, and the Late Late Show hasn’t exactly been the ratings winner that he would have hoped.
"So there is talk that he is strongly contemplating coming back to Ireland, at least for a while."
