He confirmed to fans that he will have an 'announcement' to make today, and subtly dropped in an Irish flag after his caption.
He will be familiar to Fair City fans after playing Mark Halpin for 9 years between 2001 and 2010. Since leaving the show he has been concentrating on his music career. After appearing on Britain's Got Talent, the Dublin native secured himself a record deal with Sony Music.
He released a self-titled album and two singles and is currently over in America on a tour.
Interestingly, according to The Sun, RTÉ first approached the sister duo, Heathers, to sing on behalf of the country but they turned it down as they weren't willing to sing a song written by another songwriter.
