"I've got the cons back on, I've got the jeans back on, I put the really cool jumper back on for the nerds"
Ryan Tubridy has bid a final farewell to his annual hosting duties on the Late Late Toy Show with a sweet video on social media.
The 49-year-old announced his resignation from the top spot on Irish TV just weeks ago - with many people coming out of the woodwork as potential replacements.
Earlier this week, while the host was busy filming clips for a reel of his best moments, he decided to make the most of the day that was in it by jumping into a Christmas jumper to mark the occasion.
Posting to his stories on Instagram, Tubridy was in his iconic Toy Show Christmas get-up.
He said: “We were just filming some of the links for the Late Late Show and I realised for the Toy Show, I had to wear the gear.”
He went on to say: “So, I've got the cons back on, I've got the jeans back on, I put the really cool jumper back on for the nerds.”
Ryan then said this would be the last time he would don a Christmas jumper on the set of the Toy Show.
At the end of the video he made sure to say: “So thanks everybody.”
Ryan has just three Late Late Shows left as host before focusing on other aspects of his career.
He added: “No more Toy Shows but we can still have these lovely memories.”
