Go on the gals.

Last night’s instalment of the Late Late Show saw Marissa Carter, Caroline Foran, and Chanelle McCoy join Tubridy on set to talk all things success, fear, and failure.

The two business women and author discussed their ambition, their drive, and how they’ve managed to build confidence over the years – often in the face of much adversity.

Cocoa Brown’s Carter took to Instagram today to share a piece of advice Tubridy had for the trio ahead of their interview.

She said that going on the talkshow made her feel “vulnerable” and “exposed” due to the number of people watching, but that Tubridy’s words made her confident that she would “own it.”

She wrote:

“Before we went on air last night @instatubridy came to have a word with us and he told us ‘self-deprecation is great and all but that’s not what you’re here to do tonight. Think of your 16 year old self sitting at home watching and inspire her. You’ve each earned your spot on the couch so go out and enjoy it.’

“I was feeling sick with nerves up to that point and then I thought – Tubs is dead right. I’m gonna own this! I had a ball and I love these women so much.

“I wish you could have seen our girl band huddle moment right before we walked out because it epitomised women empowering women. Thanks for all the really lovely messages ladies too. Still beaming.”

During the interview, Carter told Tubridy that despite the fact that she came from a big family that “didn’t have much,” her mam always told her to make sure that didn’t hold her back.

She said:

“That it didn’t really matter where we came from, or what we had, that if we worked hard enough that we were well able to achieve whatever it was that we wanted to in life.

“That’s where my ambition comes from, it comes from not ever wanting to feel that I was in need, that I had that independence, that I was able to look after myself, that I was able to look after my family.”
