Ukranians living in Ireland will share their thoughts on current events.

Ryan Tubridy has warned that Friday night’s Late Late Show will be a “difficult” watch.

This week’s episode is partnering with Irish Red Cross’ Ukranian Appeal to raise urgent funds for those in need of help in Ukraine.

Ryan will be speaking with Ukrainian nationals living in Ireland, who will share their perspectives on the current situation.

Taking to Instagram on Friday morning, he said:

“We’re putting the finishing touches to our Late Late Show for tonight.

“We’re going to raise, we hope, a lot of money for the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. Watching the news last night, it’s grim. So tonight the programme will be difficult at times.

“We’ll have lots of Ukrainian voices there. It’ll be reflective, hopefully informative, but most importantly it’ll make a lot of money for the right reasons and we hope you’ll join us.”

Speaking on RTÉ Radio One on Thursday he said: “It’ll be a show like no other actually because it’s an awful war in Ukraine. And like I said, we will be talking to people with stories to tell.”

Ryan will also be joined by Scottish actor Alan Cumming, who will weigh in on the ongoing situation.

Irish band Aslan and singer-songwriter Róisín Murphy will be performing live.

According to The United Nations, one million Ukrainians have fled since Russia invaded the country on 24 February. Countless lives are being torn apart by the violence and huge numbers of people have been displaced.

The Late Late Show airs at 9:35pm on RTÉ One and RTÉ player.
