Saoirse Ronan is one of Ireland's brightest screen talents and she has been praised for her recent performance in the Irish period drama, Brooklyn.
Last night Ronan received the Best Actress Award at the New York Film Critic's Centre.
RTÉreports that she was presented with the coveted award by Liam Neeson and spoke on-stage of her love of New York City, having been born in the Bronx and spent the first three years of her life there.
These pre-Oscar awards are often a strong indicator as to who will win big at the Academy Awards later this year, so Saoirse could be in with a very good chance of a Best Actress Nomination at the very least.
In more great news for the actress, she was named in the Forbes '30 under 30' list today, joining Star Wars actor John Boyega, Brie Larson, and Matt McGorry.
