Seth Rogen and his writing partner Evan Goldberg are set to help reboot
Darkwing Duck for Disney+.
As reported by
Variety, the duo are set to executive produce the reboot along with James Weaver, and Alex McAtee.
Darkwing Duck ran from 1991 to 1992, for 91 episodes over three seasons. Inspired by the 1989
Batman movie, the superhero spoof focused on unassuming citizen Drake Mallard, and his secret alter ego Darkwing Duck.

The is no word on if Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg will be involved with writing the series yet. While Rogen is best known for starring in comedy films like
Knocked Up,
Bad Neighbours and
Long Shot, he has been very active as a TV producer in recent years.
Rogen was a writer and executive producer on the AMC adaptation of cult comic book
Preacher, and is also an executive producer on Amazon's
The Boys.
Rogen and Goldberg have also written films like
Superbad and
The Pineapple Express, as well as writing and directing
This Is The End and
The Interview.
Disney have had great success with a reboot of another fowl-based classic TV cartoon.
The 2017 version of
DuckTales has run for three seasons so far, and been a big hit with both kids and nostalgic adults, and you would think Disney would be looking to do the same thing with
Darkwing Duck.

Darkwing Duck has been a recurring part of the new
DuckTales. Originally introduced as a TV show watched by Launchpad McQuack, he made his first full appearance in a 2019 episode entitled 'The Duck Knight Returns' where he was voiced by Jim Cummings.
It is not yet known is the new
Darkwing Duck will tie into
DuckTales or be set in its own continuity.
The character has also been resurrected for several comic adaptations, including a successful series from BOOM! Studios in 2010.
