Most of the animated classics revolved around a lead male character, but they would be nothing without those important femme fatales. Here are seven women who were born to star in animated films...

Despite being a huge on-screen presence, Holly was introduced to a entirely new group of fans following The Incredibles.

4. Cameron Diaz - Princess Fiona, Shrek

Perhaps one of the more genius casting choices, Cameron really was perfect for the Princess Fiona character. Funny, but charming, she was the perfect compliment to the rest of an excellent cast.

5. Kelly Macdonald - Merida, Brave

That Scottish actress, that sassy character, Merida was more than just your average Princess, a life that Kelly breathed into her.

6. Kristen Wiig - Lucy Wilde, Despicable Me 2

If ever there was a match for animation, Kristen matches her Lucy Wilde role perfectly. How they never thought of one of the funniest of women for an animation before is unforgivable.

7. Angela Lansbury - Mrs. Potts, Beauty and the Beast

How they got Angela Lansbury to look like a teapot we will never know, but it certainly worked!
