The Love Island baby challenge kicks off tonight

Sarah McKenna Barry

Holy moly.

As if the drama in the villa hadn’t already reached fiver-pitch levels, six brand new islanders are set to enter the villa tonight to shake things up once more.

These newcomers will raise tensions by kicking, screaming, and erm, demanding to have their nappies changed.

That’s right, the baby challenge is back once more.

Each couple will be assigned a mechanical newborn baby to mind overnight, and it’s safe to say that we can expect some chaos.

The couples give their new charges the following names:

Jake and Liberty – Tommy

Kaz and Tyler – Benjamin

Mary and Aaron – Sienna

Faye and Teddy – Remi

Chloe and Toby – Marley

Millie and Liam – Jackson

Not only will this challenge test the islanders’ relationships generally, it will put them through the paces of parenthood. At the end of the day, only one couple will be crowned the villa’s best mum and dad, and knowing this lot, it could go any way.

On top of that, the fallout from last night’s explosive episode is set to continue, as the boys head off on a golfing trip.

While there, both Jake, Teddy and Faye open up about the rocky paths their relationships have taken.

In discussing his relationship with Liberty, Jake says: “Bumps in the road bring you closer and once you come out the other side. We’re going onwards and upwards and I couldn’t ask for more.”

Teddy says: “Everyday waking up we’ve got smiles on our faces. I couldn’t ask for a better woman to start this journey and continue this journey with. I’m excited, boys. I haven’t felt like this in a while.”

On his relationship with Millie, Liam says: “We’ve come such a long way through the ups and downs. We’re in a very good position. We’re very strong. Things are going very, very well.”

Tonight’s episode will also see one couple dumped from the island.

Love Island continues tonight on Virgin Media One and on the Virgin Media Player.
