An All-Stars I’m A Celeb is officially happening

Television’s “worst kept secret” has finally been confirmed.

After much speculation and rumours, it has been officially confirmed that a special all-stars edition of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! is happening.

The reality series will see famed contestants return to battle it out in gruesome challenges and the winner will be crowned the ultimate king or queen of the jungle.

Filming for the show will take place in South Africa.

I’m A Celeb presenters Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly confirmed the news themselves in a video shared yesterday.

In it, Dec says: “Hello everybody, we’ve got news for you.

“It’s probably the worst kept secret in television but we can confirm we are doing a very special series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in South Africa.

“We’re here, it’s going to be your favourite celebrities from the last 20 years who are going back in to do it one more time in South Africa.”

The spin-off series will air next year, but until then, we’ve a whole series of the regular show to get through. I’m A Celeb will return this winter with a fresh batch of celebrities heading to Australia to compete.

As Dec himself said, the all-star edition of I’m A Celeb is indeed television’s “worst kept secret”, with many publications anticipating the series’ launch for quite some time now.

A number of celebrities have already been linked to the show, but no one has been officially confirmed just yet.

Among the I’m A Celeb alumni whose names have been mentioned are Georgia Toffolo, Carol Vorderman, Paul Burrell, Gillian McKeith, Lady Colin Campbell and Dean Gaffney.

Regarding Georgia’s rumoured participation, a source told The Sun that she would be paid handsomely for her appearance.

They said: “Georgia was real TV gold in her year, and the viewers loved her. She absolutely romped home.”
